Hahn Plugs began in 1986 and are well known in Ocean and Monmouth counties.

Years of experience makes the difference for the quality and swimming action of the plugs. Bob says "the unique swimming action of a Hahn Plug will always remain secret."

Everyone is welcome to stop by The Capt'n Hippo Bait & Tackle store in South Toms River. A selection of Hahn Plugs are available.

As a local person of interest, we present to the reader the story of how Bob began;

Bob was born near the NJ coast and grew up on the water. He learned to fish as soon as he could hold a rod in his hand and began crafting wooden lure kits he would receive as a child every year at Christmas. Whether surf casting on the beach, fishing from a pier or piling, or trolling from his boat, he would fish over 200 days per year. His love for fishing encouraged him to make his first hand crafted lure in his garage. A fisherman on the beach witnessed his catch and purchased the surfster lure on the spot. His reputation for making lures that catch fish grew his business to over fifteen styles. Bob's lures are well known on the eastern seaboard as one of the best for catching the elusive striped bass. His lures are also sold in California, Hawaii, Europe and the Great Lakes area for all types of fishing in fresh water and saltwater.

Snapper Blues Hot and Heavy

<dc:subject>Captain's Log</dc:subject>

Hi All,
Here is the report for the week.
Jeff L. aboard his boat "It's About Time" reported 7 keeper fluke in 60 feet of water just south of Sea Girt and keeper sized Black Sea Bass in the same area.

Al DiMartino did it again aboard Nick Marchisello's "Sea-Monkey" on Tuesday he took a 7 pound fluke near the "BI" bouy using squid/spearing combo.

Lenny and Sandy from the Captn Hippo Bait & Tackle were out Monday afternoon on their boat "Grumpy Hippo" at the "BB" bouy and had a blast catching Snapper Blues up to 3/4 pounds.

Snapper Blues are still going hot and heavy in the Toms River with some one pounders mixed in.

Heard reports of small Blow Fish in the bay.
